Position Summary: Provide ongoing support in the Accounting Department to ensure select Accounting systems are supported and maintained.
Essential Functions
Process Accounts Payable coding and entry / daily.
Resolve Accounts Payable issues including written or verbal communication with vendors and others / daily.
Process Check runs / 2-3 per week.
Process Cash receipts / 1-2 times per week.
Process Journal entries as needed.
Process Accounts Receivable statements as needed.
Process International purchases and demand note verification / weekly.
Process International payments / weekly.
Analyze expenses / monthly.
Reconcile petty cash / no less than monthly or as needed.
Process debits and credits / weekly.
Reconcile bank statements / monthly.
Process Inventory adjustments / as needed.
Process Freight claims / as needed.
Back-up on daily mail distribution.
Back-up on telephones as necessary.
Daily interaction with co-workers, management, and others.
Supplemental Functions
Participate in external audit detail / 2 times per year.
Prepare related spreadsheets and projects for external audits / 2 times per year.
Prepare or assist with P&L reconciliation / as needed.
Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliation / as needed.
Reconcile inventory discrepancies / as needed.
Review Accounts Payable records, investigate and resolve old issues / quarterly.
Other duties or special projects as assigned by Controller, Senior Accountant or Management / as needed.
General Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional and concise manner when dealing with employees, customers, vendors and Company contacts.
3 years related work experience in Accounting.
Knowledge of accepted Accounting rules and practices.
Competent computer skills required to perform the essential functions of the position, including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to become proficient in company information system.
Possess technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month‑end close responsibilities, etc.
