Job summary

BroadStreet Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Houston, Texas. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, ensures financial accuracy, and contributes to the overall success of the organization.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, expanding company. You will work alongside experienced finance professionals and gain exposure to a large national organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Process accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in audit preparation and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and agency partners throughout the organization.

  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
