Job summary

Insight Financial Staffing & Search Group in Greenville, SC seeks a Staff Accountant to perform general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations and monthly variance analysis. You will contribute to monthly close, prepare divisional statements and assist with audit schedules.

The role supports internal controls and requires mentoring junior staff while coordinating with operations on various financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting theory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries.
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records.
• Reconcile specified general ledger accounts to supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly variance analysis to prior periods and forecast.
• Support land wire requests from operations.
• Assist with preparation of commission reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies.
• Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures.
• Prepare monthly divisional financial statements/reporting and supporting schedules.
• Assist in quarterly analysis, internal reporting and preparation of audit schedules.
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
• Mentor and support staff accountant team members and data entry clerks as applicable.
• Review coding for accounts payable invoices as needed.
• Provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Perform other ad hoc projects as requested.

Duties for the Staff Accountant Role:

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
• Reconcile specified general ledger accounts to supporting documentation
• Assist with monthly variance analysis to prior periods and forecast, research and resolve/document discrepancies and issues
• Support land wire requests from operations
• Assist with preparation of commission reports, analyzing and correcting discrepancies
