Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client in Georgia is seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join their team. You will contribute to a range of accounting activities from month-end close to inventory accounting, thriving in a dynamic environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and ERP systems. You will interact with operations, payroll, and finance teams to improve processes and deliver reliable financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet account analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems and intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and data reconciliation functions; QuickBooks and/or NetSuite experience preferred.
• Inventory accounting, job costing, manufacturing, construction, or other operational accounting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Own and support month-end close activities with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research reconciling items to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
• Reconcile transactional data between operational systems and accounting systems, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset additions, disposals, and rollforward schedules.
• Support revenue and profitability analysis through detailed reconciliations and review of financial results.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of general ledger activity across multiple operating entities.
• Collaborate with operations, payroll, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve processes.
• Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory reconciliations, periodic counts, and understanding inventory flow through WIP and cost accounting processes.
• Utilize Excel to analyze, reconcile, and manipulate data from multiple systems and reporting sources.
• Contribute to process improvements and system transition initiatives, including ERP implementation and optimization efforts.
