Job Description
Staff Accountant (PERM)
Location: Beverly, MA
Salary: $80 - 90K up to 5% bonus
JOB SUMMARY:
The Staff Accountant II will be an integral member of the Finance Team at and will play a key role in the delivery of accurate and timely financial statements. The Staff Accountant II will be exposed to all areas of the accounting cycle including revenue, cost of goods sold and expense reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity.
1. Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
2. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals for various balance sheet and income statement accounts
3. Assist in financial audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
4. Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies, identifying areas for process improvements
5. Assist in tax and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
6. Provide support for budgeting and forecasting by gathering and analyzing financial data.
7. Support consolidation of financial data from international subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.
8. Assist in reconciling intercompany transactions and preparing consolidated financial reports.
9. Review daily accounting activities in the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness.
10. Assist in special projects, system upgrades and establish new reporting initiatives to improve organizational efficiencies.
11. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned to support business needs and departmental objectives.
12. Ad hoc analysis as required.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: In addition to the essential functions listed above, the incumbent may be required to perform other non-essential functions. Employees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested by their supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BS in Accounting / Finance or related field
2. 3-5 years of Accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
3. Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures) and IFRS.
4. Must be proficient in both Microsoft Excel and Word
5. Strong communication skills
6. MAS500 or similar ERP experience is preferred
1. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
2. Possess knowledge of SOX requirements.
