The Opportunity

Local Crafts Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of our company and ensuring compliance with all accounting standards. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations and general ledger postings.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and collections.
  • Reconcile and complete monthly and annual period-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist in internal and external audit, and other compliance related activities.
  • Document and maintain SOPs, identifying areas of improvement and assist in the implementation of new processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of local, state, and federal tax returns, and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations
  • Work with other departments to resolve accounting related issues.

"Must Have" Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting w/ one-year of staff accounting experience,
    • or a bachelor’s degree in finance or business administration w/ two - three years of staff accounting experience.
  • Experience in inventory, taxes, prepaid expenses, account and bank reconciliation, month-end closing, and journal entries.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, and to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines while remaining organized.
  • Independently solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.
  • Handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effectively communicate with offices and teams in other locations and time zones.
  • MS Office proficiency, including intermediate Excel skills. We will require you to perform an on-line Excel skills assessment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, a professional reference check and criminal background check will be required.

"Nice to Have" skills and experience:

    • CPA candidate or other relevant professional certification
    • Familiarity with GAAP accounting principles.
    • NetSuite software experience

*After your 90-day introduction period and completion of training, we offer a hybrid work environment with the ability to work remotely 1 day a week.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 DOE, plus annual bonus based on individual performance and company profitability.
