Job summary

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits is seeking a Staff Accountant in Aurora, CO to ensure accurate general ledger activity and timely closing. The role focuses on completing complex balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis, supporting month-end close, and delivering clear accounting information for leadership decisions.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience, with strong knowledge of accounting principles and GL systems.

Responsibilities

• Calculate, review and process journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for month-end/quarter-end processing.
• Post daily cash activities.
• Evaluate transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure financials are accurate and complete.
• Compile and analyze accounting information to provide management with data for decisions.
• Analyze and interpret data to make recommendations and comparisons.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with expected first year total earnings between $60000 - $70000 / year. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

The Staff Accountant will evaluate complex transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure financials are accurate and complete. This role is also responsible for the completion of complex balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis.

Primary Responsibilities

• Calculate, review and process journal entries and balance sheet/account reconciliation in preparation for month-end and/or quarter-end processing
• Posting daily cash activities
• Evaluate transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure the financials are accurate and complete
• Compile and analyze complex accounting information to provide management with accounting information necessary to make critical business decisions
• Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor s Degree plus three years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Two years of demonstrated full-cycle accounting experience
• Two years of demonstrated experience of accounting principles and GL systems

Physical Demands

• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
• Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
