Career Opportunities: Staff Accountant
The Senior Accountant will ensure accurate and timely accounting and proper recording and presentation of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The Senior Accountant will prepare journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and aid the accounting manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a senior accountant in the Finance department, the role involves financial analysis, process improvement, and month-end and year-end close processes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Financial analysis: Analyze financial records and reports, summarize financial status, and identify discrepancies and non-compliance issues.
- Process improvement: Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Month-end and year-end close: Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Financial reporting: Prepare financial and/or tax reports, budgets, and variance analyses for stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and executives.
- Internal controls: Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
- Forecasting: Review financial data to make forecasting decisions and participate in the forecast process.
- Assist department with annual audits, both internal and external.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis for management as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Two years of related work experience

- Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, present complex ideas concisely, and clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, with time-sensitive and changing deadlines, without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail
- Must be a self-motivated and confident individual, who holds themselves and the team accountable
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; proficiency with data analysis, pivot tables, and complex graphs
- Ability to manage tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work independently
- Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system helpful
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- May work remotely
- Ability to sit for a full shift of at least 8 hours
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing
- Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery
