Job summary

Addison Group seeks an experienced Staff Accountant for a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment in Anaheim. You will handle revenue accounting, POS and bank reconciliations, AR/AP support, intercompany reconciliation, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years of accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and strong use of Excel and Dynamics 365. Prior F&B industry exposure is strongly preferred, with excellent attention to detail and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

  • 5–7+ years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Food & Beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, bookkeeping, reconciliations, and general accounting principles.
  • Experience reconciling POS sales, cash settlements, and bank activity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve accounting variances.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile POS sales reports, ensuring revenue is accurately recorded in the F&B general ledger by sales category, department, and event.
  • Reconcile daily POS settlements to bank activity and investigate discrepancies.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations across all bank accounts.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and research discrepancies as needed.
  • Oversee and maintain Accounts Receivable, including monitoring outstanding balances and providing regular status updates to leadership.
  • Provide support to the Accounts Payable function as needed.
  • Assist with the month-end close and preparation of monthly financial reports.
  • Support financial and external audits by preparing documentation, coordinating with auditors, and responding to audit inquiries accurately and timely.
  • Maintain organized and accurate fiscal files and accounting records to support financial reporting and audit requirements.
  • Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with established bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
  • Contribute to the achievement of overall financial accounting objectives and internal controls.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support daily financial operations within a fast-paced Food & Beverage environment. This role will be responsible for revenue accounting, POS and bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable support, intercompany reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit preparation.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and organized accounting professional with strong reconciliation skills and hands-on experience working with high-volume financial transactions.
