Position Profile: Stadium Services Cleaning & Recycling Supervisor
Department: Stadium Services
Reports to: Stadium Site Manager
Status: Full Time, Salaried-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:The Stadium Services Cleaning & Recycling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all post-event cleaning operations and advancing the organization's sustainability initiatives. This role focuses on increasing waste diversion rates, developing programs, and implementing strategies to minimize the stadium's environmental impact. The supervisor will collaborate with various departments, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance and development of sustainability policies. The supervisor will assist in event preparation, preventative maintenance and daily cleaning throughout GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and surrounding grounds.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate operations for full-time, part-time, seasonal, and temporary staff involved in post-event clean, recycling activities and daily facility operations.
  • Provide training on sustainability practices and waste management protocols.

Sustainability Program Management:

  • Lead the "Extra Yard for the Environment" Committee, scheduling monthly meetings to drive sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve zero-waste goals, including waste reduction, recycling, and composting programs.
  • Monitor and analyze waste streams to identify areas for improvement and implement innovative waste management strategies.

Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and contractors, including trash hauling, labor companies, and recycling services, to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with waste management and recycling contractors to enhance sustainability efforts.

Policy Development and Compliance:

  • Develop, review, and enforce stadium cleaning and recycling policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and sustainability standards.

Education and Community Engagement:

  • Create and disseminate educational materials, such as brochures, flyers, and training guides, to promote sustainability awareness among staff and patrons.
  • Engage with the community through sustainability initiatives and programs, enhancing the organization's environmental stewardship.
  • Data Tracking and Reporting:
    • Utilize work order systems (e.g., ISS 24/7) and communication devices to assign tasks strategically and monitor progress.
    • Track performance metrics related to sustainability initiatives and prepare reports to assess program effectiveness.

Operational Support:

  • Assist in event preparation, preventative maintenance, and daily cleaning throughout the stadium and surrounding areas.
  • Operational knowledge of various pieces of equipment, including carts, tractors, biodigesters, and sorting machines, to support cleaning and recycling operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 pounds, occasionally over the shoulder.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of progressive leadership experience in sustainability or facility operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with work order management systems.
  • Experience with recycling programs, waste diversion strategies, and sustainability initiatives in large venues or similar environments.
