Job Summary

Food Service Worker – Stadium Concession Staff at Rice‑Eccles Stadium

Responsibilities

Sets‑up and serves a variety of food items from counters and steam tables to cafeteria/snack shop patrons following established methods, standards and procedures to ensure appropriate sized portions and prompt, quality service. Prepares items such as sandwiches, salads, garnishes, fresh fruits and raw vegetables for daily service and caters orders. Manages fresh food storage by wrapping unused portions and refrigerating cold‑sensitive items. Cleans and sanitizes work areas, including countertops, coffee, hot chocolate and juice machines, slicers, scales, refrigerators and shelves to maintain a sanitary environment. Operates equipment such as scales and electric slicing machines to slice and weigh meat, cheese, etc. for catering orders and buffets. Scrapes, sorts and pre‑rinses soiled dishware, glasses and silverware; loads them into the dishwashing machine, removes clean items and delivers them to dining areas to provide sanitary dishes for daily service.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Food Handler’s Permit within one month of employment
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English
• Commitment to providing excellent service
• Six months food handler experience preferred

Preference for candidates with experience working in student settings and a strong commitment to improving access to higher education.
