Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is seeking a Stadium & Venue Maintenance & Operations Technician based at American Legion Memorial Stadium and the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex. You will support the Maintenance Supervisor and Facility Managers in maintaining athletic fields, painting logos, setting up events, and performing general upkeep.

The role requires knowledge of field and turf grass management, and involves evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays according to the event schedule.

Qualificações

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in the related area.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Computer skills: General knowledge of applicable computer programs.
• Licenses & Certifications: Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License; may require Class A or Class B CDL.

Responsabilidades

• Set up, break down and clean during events.
• Clean restrooms and rental facilities as needed.
• Remove limbs/debris; clear mud and water; mow and trim fields.
• Assist in labor tasks such as brick/pipe laying, painting, carpentry.
• Layout measurements and line ballfields; assist in field maintenance.
• Operate power mowers, chainsaws, edgers, clippers, power washers, ATVs.
• Open park gates and remove trash.
• Operate light equipment like tractors and dump trucks as needed.
• May lead a small work crew or volunteers.
• May receive, sort, and package materials.

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation is looking for a Stadium & Venue Maintenance and Operations Technician to join our team! This position will be based at American Legion Memorial Stadium and the Mecklenburg County Sportsplex and will assist the Maintenance Supervisor and Facility Managers with the preparation and maintenance of these facilities. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the athletic fields, field layout, painting of fields and logos, set-up and breakdown of the facility for events, and other general upkeep at the facilities. The preferred candidate will possess knowledge of field, turf grass management, agronomy, and athletic ground care maintenance and prevention. This full-time position will be required to work evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.

Facility Information: American Legion Memorial Stadium is a newly renovated, 10,000 capacity, multi-purpose stadium and is home to the Charlotte Independence, Anthem RC, and Carolina Ascent FC. The Sportsplex has nine synthetic turf multi-purpose fields, two grass multi-purpose fields and a grass 4,000-seat stadium and hosts a variety of local, regional, and national events ranging from youth and high school to college and professional sports year-round.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Class A CDL
• Extensive experience in athletic field and/or golf course preparation
• Turf, Ground, or Field related certifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform setup, breakdown and cleaning during events
• Perform routine and non-routine cleaning services to restrooms and rental facilities
• Remove limbs and debris; blows leaves off sidewalks and greenways; clears mud and water from greenway tunnels after storms, and mow and trim ballfields
• Assist in manual labor such as brick laying, pipe laying, painting, carpentry and other construction tasksli>
• Layout measurements and line ballfields and assist in performing field maintenance
• Operate power mowers, chainsaws, brush cutter, edger and clippers, power washers, ATVs, litter vacuum, and other equipment used in facility maintenance, landscaping, roadside maintenance, and right of way cleaning.
• Open park gates and remove trash
• May operate light equipment such as utility vehicles, tractors, mowers and dump trucks
• May serve as a lead on a small work crew, community service workers, volunteers and/or part-timers
• May receive, sort, and package materials

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Computer Skills: General knowledge of applicable computer programs
• Licenses and Certifications: Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License and County Driving Privileges. Depending on area of assignment- may require Class A or Class B CDL
