Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc in the United States is seeking a general laborer responsible for safely handling lumber products and verifying material meets customer requirements and company expectations.

You will move and secure materials, label and stack according to sizes, attach tags, and assist in production while maintaining accurate inventory and a clean work area. Emphasis on safety, teamwork, and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing or lumber experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move and secure lumber products and other materials according to instructions.
• Stack finished products according to predetermined bundle sizes and/or customer requirements.
• Label material based on type, size, and count.
• Apply individual tags to material before/after treating/production.
• Use a staple gun and troubleshoot equipment.
• Band, bundle and secure material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks.
• Follow instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements.
• Ensure correct quantities and material are strapped, and labeled before leaving the work area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tags and report any problems or discrepancies to supervisor.
• Record production on production sheets and keep a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with other work areas by moving material, loading and unloading material carts.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
