Job summary

We are seeking a Press Operator for a 2nd shift in North Kansas City, MO. Prior metal press machine operation experience is required. The position offers room to grow and a full benefits package after becoming a permanent employee.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand work instructions, prepare workstation and equipment.
• Perform die changeovers and select correct materials.
• Fix setup or tool problems preventing production of good parts.
• Operate press to punch and form parts per specifications.
• Adjust and tighten hold down bolts, dies, springs and pins; lubricate as required.
• Complete all required paperwork and maintain housekeeping.

Job description

Position Title: Press Operator

Wage: $20.00/hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 3:15pm-11:45pm Monday-Friday, Overtime may be required (Training 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday)

We are searching for candidates with prior metal press machine operation experience for a 2nd shift role located in North Kansas City, MO. Press Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Read and understand work instructions, handle material to and from workstation, and get workstation and equipment ready for production and ensure the quality of the product before shipping
• Perform die changeovers and select correct materials to run
• Correct or seek support to fix any setup or tool problems preventing production of good parts
• Operate press to punch and form parts per specifications
• Adjust and tighten hold down bolts, dies, springs, and pins; lubricate material and parts as required
• Perform housekeeping activities daily as outlined by supervisor
• Complete all required and assigned paperwork

Press Operator Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
• Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, ascend/descend stairs, and climb throughout a normal shift
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with up to 20 pounds as the most frequent lift
• Excellent attendance
• Strong attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination to distinguish defective items
• Previous experience in manufacturing and operating a press preferred
• Ability to read measuring devices and interpret blueprints and drawings
• No cell phones allowed on warehouse floor
