Tyson Foods is seeking Maintenance and Refrigeration Technicians to maintain ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air and steam systems. You will work with plant personnel to keep equipment safe and reliable, perform preventative maintenance and repairs, and support a fast-paced production environment.
The role requires RETA Operator 1 certification, 3+ years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and availability for 3rd
Pay range is RF01 $32.98 to RF04 $36.43, depending on experience. There is a $0.85 shift differential

With minor supervision provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and effective operation of ammonia refrigeration systems, HCFC systems, hot water, compressed air, and steam systems. Must be able to safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment and the ability to effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing robust preventative maintenance and refrigeration repairs, performing emergency mechanical or electrical repairs, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, pump, pressure, and hydraulic plant equipment. Understanding boiler theory, RETA Operator I, and IIAR Basic NH3 Refrigeration schematics will be required for this role. Must be able to pass a HAZ-Mat physical and pass the training to be certified as an Emergency Responder Technician Level and participate on the Emergency Response Team. Also responsible for minimizing downtime due to equipment and system failure.
Experience: 3(+) years of industrial ammonia refrigeration experience or equivalent nce required Education: 1 year of industrial maintenance experience education preferred (I.E. possess industrial maintenance diploma or currently enrolled in technical school) in lieu of experience; Certification and experience as RETA Operator 1 required; Certification as RETA Operator 2 and 3 preferred Computer Skills: Basic computer skills will be necessary to log information, to process daily work orders and to complete required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively and basic math skills are necessary to perform this job at a satisfactorily level Special Skills: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend and stoop Repetitive gripping, pushing and pulling Temperatures inside plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may be also be needed Basic math skills; percentages, fractions and measurements Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance including Pneumatics, PLC’s, Motor controls, and shop equipment operation desired
