St. John the Baptist, New Haven - Physical Education Teacher (New Haven, IN)

St. John’s Catholic School New Haven is looking for a Physical Education teacher, full time. This position will be shared between two schools on different days. The Educator will be responsible for integrating the mission of St. John’s Catholic School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in all planning, teaching, grading, and in all school duties for the betterment of our students.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  1. Models and teaches Catholic doctrine, values, and morals.
  2. Develop and teach physical education curriculum according to state and school standards.
  3. Plans curriculum and prepares lessons and other materials, considering factors such as individual needs, abilities, learning levels, and physical limitations of students.
  4. Organize and maintain a clean and safe classroom environment.
  5. Maintain discipline in classroom and in other school activities.
  6. Assess and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to students and parents.
  7. Works cooperatively with administrators, faculty, students and parents to form a faith community in the school and parish.
  8. Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  2. Teacher License is an added bonus.
  3. Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching.
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
  5. Ability to inspire and motivate students to learn and practice physical abilities.

This is a non-management position.
