St. John the Baptist, Fort Wayne - 4th Grade Teacher (Fort Wayne, IN)

St. John the Baptist Catholic School is looking for a 4th Grade teacher. The Educator will be responsible for integrating the mission of St. John the Baptist Catholic School and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend in all planning, teaching, grading, and in all school duties for the betterment of our students.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Understands, believes in, and communicates joyfully about the St. John’s mission in all endeavors.
2. Provides grades 4 Indiana content standards for students.
3. Has a love for the Saints and helps students prepare for All Saints Day and the All School Coliseum Mass.
4. Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
5. Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Diocesan Curriculum.
6. Participates in school wide instructional initiatives like writing, novel units, type to learn, etc.
7. Maintains appropriate control of the classroom through established routines and procedures that allow for the learning of all students.
8. Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
9. Provides regular and consistent communication with parents, students, staff and administration.
10. Performs assigned duties for the supervision of students before, during or after school including lunch duties, recess duties, dismissal duties, detention and any other duties assigned by the administration.
11. Participates in faculty meetings, school committees, and in-service learning opportunities.
12. Attends school events including Back to School Nights, Open Houses, Parent/Teacher conference days, and other events as requested by the administration.

Qualifications:

1. Indiana teaching license in appropriate grade level/teaching area; or demonstrated eligibility to receive a license.
2. Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching.
3. Positive references and recommendations.
4. Clear ability to promote and witness to our Roman Catholic Faith.
5. Basic understanding and acceptance of Catholic school philosophy, goals and objectives.
6. Must be comfortable with technology such as laptops, website maintenance, interactive whiteboards, etc.
