Job Description

The St. James Hotel is offering summer jobs and is looking for engaging team members. We are willing to train candidates with a great attitude and professional style. Work 20-40 hours per week during summer, with possible part-time work in May, September, and October, accommodating evening and weekend availability. The Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher is an excellent entry point into a culinary career, responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, assisting cooks, and monitoring trash levels.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Sweeping and mopping the kitchen, dish areas, restaurant line, banquet areas, and walk-in coolers.
2. Cleaning china, silverware, glassware using dish machines or by hand.
3. Washing and clearing counters, shelves, and mats.
4. Assisting with kitchen setup, breakdown, and cleanliness.
5. Monitoring and removing trash and recycling.
6. Washing pots, pans, kettles, and skillets, and returning them to proper storage.
