Job summary

Peter Cremer North America, LP is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician II to install, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot various control systems, pumps and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience and the ability to read prints and schematics.

The technician will be on-call at a predetermined frequency, support maintenance scheduling, and work under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong mechanical, electrical and leadership skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read basic prints, schematics and troubleshoot high-volume production equipment.
  • On-call at a predetermined frequency.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate routine preventive maintenance scheduling and documentation to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
  • Support operations and provide communication on the progress and status of repairs.
  • Identify root causes of process problems and drive corrective actions.
  • Interact with vendors and contractors to execute projects/repairs.
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, mechanical and electrical control systems.
  • Install, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot pumps.
  • Read and interpret electrical diagrams, I/O diagrams, MCC schematics, P&ID drawings and mechanical blueprints.
  • Work with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
  • Use tools from hand tools to precision measuring devices and testing instruments.
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC) per requirements, and adhere to EH&S and regulatory standards.
  • Travel up and down stairs as required.

Job description

Position Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician II

Supervisor:Maintenance Supervisor

Department:Maintenance FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Location(s):ST Status: Full-time

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the Installation, Inspection, Maintenance and Troubleshooting of Pneumatic Control Systems, Hydraulic Control Systems, Electrical Control Systems, Digital Control Systems, Mechanical Systems, Instrumentation and Pumps. The Maintenance Technician must be able to read basic prints, schematics and troubleshoot high volume production equipment. The maintenance technician will also be responsible for being on call at a predetermined frequency.

III. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Kind & Length of Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong mechanical, electrical, and leadership skills required
  • Strong Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude required.
  • Sense of urgency in decision making and time management skills required.
  • Experienced working with the following maintenance equipment: Allen Bradley Products: Guard Master, Power flex, flex I/O, Control Logix controllers and system components preferred.
  • Core facility equipment experience including boilers, air compressors, air dryers and steam systems.
  • Maintaining and troubleshoot pumps.
  • Calibration of various gauges and digital output meters.
  • Prior leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED
IV. PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS
  • Facilitate routine preventive maintenance scheduling and documentation to ensure that manufacturing and facility equipment continue to operate safely and efficiently.
  • Support operations and provide good communication and organization pertaining to the progress and status of a repair.
  • Possess the ability to identify process problems root cause and facilitate their corrective action.
  • Interact with vendors and contractors to execute projects/repairs.
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic control systems.
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical as well as electrical control systems.
  • Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot digital control system.
  • Install, inspect, maintain and troubleshoot pumps.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical single line diagrams, I/O diagrams, electrical motor control schematics, P&ID drawings and mechanical blueprints.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision and good time management skills.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
  • Initiate Management of Change (MOC) per requirements.
  • Adhere to all Site Environmental, Health, Safety and Security Requirements, Local, State and Federal Regulations
  • Maintain Hazardous waste in accordance with all Local, State and Federal Regulations. Follow all RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures and other requirements.
  • Ability to travel frequently up and down stairs.
  • Other duties as assigned
