Job summary

Cochise College in Arizona seeks a Student Ambassador to support recruiting efforts for the Aviation Department. You will plan and staff campus events, accompany staff to high schools and external events, and provide campus tours.

The role includes clerical tasks, data entry, answering phones, and coordinating recruitment calls. You will work under the Director of Aviation and represent the college in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment at Cochise College with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and 3 credits in the summer.
  • Possess and maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Students attending Cochise College on an F-1 Visa require full-time enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits per semester and six credits in the summer.

Job description

Position Summary

The Student – Ambassadoris responsible for providing support and assistance in the recruiting efforts of the Aviation Department to include, but not limited to, planning and working campus events, accompanying College staff to high schools and external events, giving campus tours and providing support to aviation department office.

Essential Functions

Note: Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets prospective students/other visitors in a pleasant and courteous manner; provides information to prospective students.
  • Assists Aviation Department staff with planning and developing campus and high school recruiting events; conducts campus tours.
  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, typing, data entry, scanning, photocopying, answering phones, making outbound recruitment calls, and taking messages.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public
Work Environment

Work is primarily performed under general supervision. Incumbent generally performs work in a typical office setting with appropriate climate controls.

Physical Requirements

Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.

Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem-solving skills are important
