SSD & Firmware Test Technician $38/Hour | Longmont, CO 80503

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SSD & Firmware Test Technician to support hardware validation, firmware testing, and test lab operations in a storage technology environment. This hands-on role involves configuring hardware and Linux test environments, executing automated and manual test suites, troubleshooting test failures, and supporting SSD and firmware validation activities. The ideal candidate has a combination of hardware troubleshooting experience, Linux system administration skills, scripting knowledge, and familiarity with NVMe SSD technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot test lab environments and hardware systems.
• Install and configure Linux operating systems and custom testing environments.
• Execute automated and manual test suites, including regression testing.
• Monitor test execution, identify failures, and perform initial troubleshooting and triage.
• Review system logs and test results to identify issues and potential failure points.
• Work with firmware and test engineering teams to investigate hardware and software-related failures.
• Perform hardware installation, cabling, component replacement, and basic repairs.

Required Qualifications & Technical Skills

• Approximately 3-4 years of relevant experience in hardware testing, test lab operations, system integration, firmware validation, or a related technical environment.
• Strong Linux fundamentals and system administration experience.
• Hands-on hardware configuration, installation, and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with automated and manual test execution.
• Scripting experience using Python and Bash.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket, or similar source control platforms.
• Ability to analyze test logs, identify failures, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Intermediate knowledge of NVMe SSD technology and storage protocols.
• Understanding of SSD architecture and storage device validation methodologies.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with SSD testing, firmware validation, or storage hardware qualification.
• Background in hardware testing, data center operations, infrastructure support, or system integration.
• Familiarity with storage device testing and firmware validation environments.
• Experience executing multiple regression test suites.
• Recent technical graduates with strong Linux and Python skills may be considered if they demonstrate strong troubleshooting ability and technical aptitude.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is comfortable working in a hands-on laboratory environment and can move between hardware setup, test execution, and troubleshooting responsibilities. They should be analytical, adaptable, and capable of independently executing test plans, reviewing logs, identifying failures, and escalating issues to engineering teams when necessary.
