Job summary

Trane Technologies in La Crosse, WI is hiring a Sr. Quality Manager to lead quality improvement initiatives across three Commercial HVAC business units, advancing lean practices and reducing waste while meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.

You will drive APQP tools, DoE, FMEA, and Control Plans, mentor teams, support QMS/BOS, and coordinate rework of materials to minimize costs.

Qualifications

  • Seven years (7+) years of experience in manufacturing engineering and quality management.
  • In-depth knowledge of APQP tools including process FMEAs and control plans.
  • Experience with CAD, PLM, and MES systems and design reviews.
  • Experience with lean tools: Visual Management, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SMED, Kanban.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product quality improvements and ownership of the Cost of Quality.
  • Improve equipment, tools, and technologies affecting production capacity.
  • Support QMS and BOS via Leader Standard Work.
  • Provide training in problem solving, DoE, FMEA, and Control Plans.
  • Lead Non-Conformance Material Reviews and coordinate rework cost-effectively.
  • Evaluate failures with Product Quality Team and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Supervise tooling activities and ensure engineering/processing requirements meet customer needs.

Trane Technologies is hiring a Sr. Quality Manager in La Crosse, WI. In this role, you will

be responsible for manufacturing and quality improvement initiatives between three

different Commercial HVAC business units that allow Trane to meet organizational goals

and support a lean strategy to bring Trane’s products to new levels of quality, reliability, and

value. This leader will apply advanced manufacturing and lean strategies to promote

quality and remove waste in operations. The candidate must be highly motivated and be

able to lead a team of employees in the development and implementation of new

processes, tools, and procedures that meet Trane’s safety, quality, delivery, and cost

targets

What you will do:
  • Responsible for driving product quality improvements with ownership of the Cost of Quality to help eliminate waste and meet organizational goals.
  • Responsible for driving improvements to equipment, tools, technologies and other factors impacting production capability and capacity.
  • Supports ISO and other company standard practices and procedures such as the Quality Management System (QMS) and Business Operating System (BOS) via Leader Standard Work.
  • Provide training and development in problem solving methods, Design of Experiments (DoE), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans.
  • Responsible for Non-Conformance Material Reviews; lead team in developing and coordinating rework of materials while minimizing cost to company.
  • Evaluate field and internal failures with the Product Quality Team and aid in problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Supervises tooling activities, including design, order, maintenance, gages; and fulfill customer requirements relating to engineering or processing, i.e. FMEA, flow charting, and problem solving.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Seven years (7+) years of experience in manufacturing engineering and quality management required.
  • In-depth knowledge, understanding and application of APQP tools, to include process flows, process FMEAs and control plans, to meet Quality and Reliability requirements and targets.
  • Experience in engineering systems to include CAD, PLM and MES systems. Ability to contribute in design reviews and assist during validation and qualification, to include safety and ergonomics.
  • Experience with lean principles and techniques to include Visual Management, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Cycle Time Reduction and Process Balancing, 5S, Set Up Reduction (SMED), and Kanban.

$113,600.00 - $161,945.00
