Job Description

Assistant Boys Soccer Coach position at Southridge High School. Responsibilities include carrying out athletic program objectives, assisting head coach, instructing students in techniques and training, and implementing coaching philosophies consistent with district and WIAA mission statements.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Carry out the objectives of the sports program as outlined by the athletic director.
• Assist the head coach in administrative, program coordination, and developmental duties.
• Instruct participants in individual, group, and team techniques, tactics, and physical training.
• Implement teaching and coaching philosophies consistent with the district and WIAA mission statements.

Required Qualifications

• Current First Aid/CPR cards and knowledge of related preventative health and training standards.
• Meet and maintain coaching standards set by the district and WIAA.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated short and long‑term organization and management skills.
• Three current recommendations.
• Evidence of being a positive role model.
• Clearly defined philosophy for the coaching level applied for.
• Coaching experience in boys soccer.
• Evidence of effective public relations.
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate with students, parents, assistant coaches, administrators, and community members.
• Evidence of WIAA certification and compliance with WIAA and district rules and regulations.

Physical Demands

Job requires standing, walking, pushing or pulling 18–26 lbs., lifting up to 26 lbs, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, using hands to type, handle, and reaching with hands and arms. Must communicate verbally and possess necessary sensory and vision abilities. Work outdoors across temperature extremes and possible wet/humid conditions. Moderate noise level.
