Cisco CX Engineering is seeking a Software Engineer for the Site Reliability Engineering – Security team in a hybrid San Jose role. You will design secure, scalable infrastructure and developer platforms, embed Zero Trust, and help elevate the security posture across production systems.

You will lead cross‑team incident response, define SLIs/SLOs, and drive automation for policy‑as‑code, identity, and secrets management while partnering with engineering leadership to balance security and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience or higher degrees.
• 5+ years in production cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP) with IAM, KMS, network controls, CSPM tooling.
• 3+ years building automation for security (Python/Go) for vulnerability management, secrets orchestration, or evidence collection.
• 5+ years applying SRE practices in production: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident command, post‑mortems.
• 5+ years applying security fundamentals in production: threat modeling, least‑privilege, workload identity, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable infrastructure and developer platforms with default security controls.
• Harden Kubernetes control planes, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks.
• Drive Zero Trust at scale using workload identity and micro‑segmentation.
• Own reliability and security posture for secrets, PKI, and IAM governance.
• Lead cross‑team incident response and blameless post‑mortems; turn failures into fixes.
• Automate security and compliance via policy‑as‑code and automated evidence collection.
