Job summary

VoltaGrid, LLC is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a small DevOps/SRE team in Houston, TX. The role balances hands-on infrastructure work with coaching 3-5 engineers and setting the technical direction for reliability, cloud, on-prem, and deployment pipelines.

You will drive SLI/SLO adoption, collaborate with product teams on capacity planning and readiness, and own team processes including on-call rotations and postmortems. Strong leadership and cloud experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infra engineering with leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure); AWS preferred.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring, observability, and alerting expertise; strong Linux background.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a 3-5 person DevOps/SRE team.
• Contribute hands-on to infrastructure design, tooling, and incidents.
• Set technical direction for cloud/on-prem infra and reliability practices.
• Drive adoption of SLI/SLO frameworks and improve operational maturity.
• Partner with leadership on capacity planning, roadmaps, and readiness.
• Own team processes: sprint planning, on-call rotations, postmortems.
