Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Strategize, implement, and manage website merchandising programs.
  • Represents the US Outdoor eCommerce business in all phases of the product lifecycle and forecasts.
  • Collaborates with product teams to grow exclusive product initiatives.
  • Own the go-to-market calendar and ensure campaigns, inventory, landing pages, and marketing tactics are aligned.
  • Liaise with digital catalog to support onsite merchandising features and market trends.
  • Identify and manage strategic product lifecycle markdowns with inventory planning.
  • Monitor sell-through and provide updates on category and SKU-level performance.
  • Provide monthly/quarterly/seasonal performance reports and optimization recommendations.
  • Improve product pages, taxonomy, and navigation for better browsability and depth.
  • Coordinate with digital marketing to enhance SEO, including titles, meta descriptions, and keywords.
  • Work cross-functionally across the eCommerce org to tie site merchandising to email, social, and campaigns.
  • Conduct market research to benchmark competitors and selling trends.

Job Summary

The Senior Website Merchandiser delivers an outstanding online shopping experience while strengthening engagement and brand affinity. This role is responsible for developing and implementing website merchandising assortments and launch plans that will guide the growth of the US Outdoor online business. In partnership with the marketing teams, this role creates and maintains customer-centric digital merchandising plans through an integrated online go-to-market calendar, as well as manages the day-to-day execution of the website experience of the assigned categories. Working in close partnership with inventory management, brand creative, operations, analytics, digital marketing, and product development teams, this role plays a pivotal role in helping to influence future product line development and ensure that we represent the voice of our fans.

Essential Functions

Description

  • Responsible for strategizing, implementing, and managing website merchandising programs.
  • Represents the US Outdoor eCommerce businesses in all phases of the product lifecycle development process and responsible for providing seasonal product forecasts.
  • Collaborates with the product teams to strategically grow our exclusive product initiatives.
  • Own the creation and management of the go-to-market calendar, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure product campaigns and events are briefed on time, have adequate in stock inventory, planned and optimized landing pages, and marketing acquisition/retention strategies to support sell-through targets.
  • Accountable for the merchandise needs of special projects, including being the liaison for the digital catalog and the development of onsite merchandising features.
  • In partnership with the sales & demand planning teams, identify and manage strategic product lifecycle markdowns as inventory needs and seasonal timelines are identified.
  • Leverage internal tools to monitor sell-through performance and provide regular updates to management teams on category, product family, style, and SKU-level details.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, seasonal, and key promotion performance reports, identifying opportunities or course-corrective actions when needed.
  • Manage attributes, taxonomy, trending keywords, and navigation structure and make recommendations to improve product pages, browsability and page depth optimization.
  • Partner with the digital marketing team to identify SEO opportunities to improve page titles, meta descriptions, and trending keywords on category and product pages.
  • Works cross functionally across the eCommerce org to ensure site merchandising and product pages tie back to site marketing, email, social, and seasonal buying behavior.
  • Conduct market research to benchmark key competitors, identify site or product opportunities, and selling trends to influence sell-through strategies.
  • Develop and articulate new sell-through tools and features to help drive roadmap of optimizations and enhancements.
  • Analyze and understand consumer demographics and preferences to present recommended strategies for current and future site merchandising.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Business or Merchandising Required
  • Three (3) to (6) years of experience as an eCommerce merchandiser with at least one (1) year as a Senior Merchandiser

Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform theessential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Preferred experience in retail planning, buying, or allocation
  • Preferred experience working with a footwear, apparel manufacturer, or in the outdoor industry
  • Advanced understanding of fundamental eCommerce business objectives, conversion funnel, optimization tactics and key performance indicators
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple work requests and projects with an ability to independently prioritize workload.
  • Strong understanding of direct response marketing activities such as SEM/SEO, remarketing/retention, display, and affiliates.
  • Experience with ecommerce product data, discovery and merchandising software.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise solutions (Shopify, Salesforce, SAP or similar)
  • Proficient in all MS Office functions (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Base Salary: $95,000–$101,000

The salary range posted for this position represents the anticipated hiring range for this role. Offers are made within this range based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market considerations. This is the hiring range for the position; compensation above the posted maximum is not typically available at the time of hire.

Work Location: Hybrid

This role is based in the Portland, OR area and follows a hybrid work model. Employees are expected to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our Portland office and generally work on-site four days per week, with flexibility based on business and team needs.
