Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Sr. Water Resources Project Manager for our South Florida offices.

The role leads a multidisciplinary team, supports municipal water and wastewater projects, and may assist transportation projects, with a focus on growing the Florida client base and guiding key accounts. Responsibilities include project management, winning work, and aligning delivery with safety and quality standards while collaborating with local business line leaders to build the South Florida Water

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering with focus on water resources.
  • Professional engineering license required.
  • 10+ years of post-education water resources experience.
  • Strong connections with Florida municipal agencies and utilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the South Florida Water practice in collaboration with local leaders.
  • Manage PM efforts for municipal water and wastewater projects and related transportation work.
  • Develop new business and manage relationships with existing clients and sub‑consultants.
  • Drive delivery excellence, safety, quality, and sustainable standards.
  • Monitor KPIs such as staff growth, backlog, and utilization to guide performance.

Position Overview

WSP is currently initiating a search in our South Florida offices for a Sr. Water Resources Project Manager with extensive experience in the Water Industry. The candidate will be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team supporting municipal water and wastewater projects and may also support transportation projects. This practice‑building role includes business development of existing and new clients and sub‑consultants, and project management for key clients. The role provides overall leadership to the South Florida Water business line in collaboration with other local business line leaders.

Your Impact / Responsibilities
  • Prioritize investments to enhance WSP’s ability to deliver high‑quality, sustainable projects.
  • Optimize the client and employee experience through regular review and implement process improvements and automation.
  • Focus on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality and sustainable standards.
  • Pull together the best teams to maximize productivity, including bringing in technical expertise as applicable.
  • Manage key performance indicators such as staff growth, EBITDA, DSO, utilization, backlog, inclusion & diversity and guiding principles.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a focus in Water Resources or a closely related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant post‑education experience in water resources engineering.
  • Professional license.
  • Strong business development experience with connections to local agencies and municipalities in Florida.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience.
