Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a Sr Warehouse Driver Associate to operate a company vehicle for local deliveries and support the warehouse at the branch. You will determine and pull items per sales orders, prepare shipments, and ensure safe, accurate delivery to customers.

Job description

SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, the Sr Warehouse Driver Associate operates a company vehicle to pick up and deliver local orders and equipment. This role arranges the most efficient route. The Warehouse Driver also provides warehouse support at the branch location as needed.

JOB DUTIES

• Determines which items need to be picked, checked and shipped from sales order.
• Pulls orders accordingly to the sales order and recheck them to ensure accuracy.
• Prepares items for delivery to customer.
• Secures packages to make sure no items are damaged in shipping to customer.
• Prepares customer returns for shipment back to Distribution Center, Fulfillment Center, or supplier.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to established MINO code organization of products.
• Ensures if any inventory is damaged or not up to standards to be reported to the warehouse supervisor immediately.
• Maintains a clean, well-organized, and safe working environment.
• Will deliver items to customers; obtains signature from customer to validate receipt of items.
• May process counter sales or invoices for customers.
• Will operate a forklift or similar equipment.
• Will be a SME in one or more warehouse skills.
• Will mentor lower level warehouse associates.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Receives items in the computer system to show which items are available for the customers.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Typically requires a high school diploma or GED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Ability to read and interpret packing slips and delivery instructions.
• Ability to document any information obtained from customer during delivery.
• Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
• Basic computer skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to move up to 100lbs and lift up to 50 lbs.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver’s license and annual review of driving record.
• Road test is required upon hire. All company vehicles are subject to continuous video monitoring.
• Internal training and certifications required upon hire.
• Medical Card / DOT Physical.
• May be required to earn safety certifications for specific customers.
• Must comply with applicable federal DOT guidelines.
