Job summary

Veterans United Home Loans is seeking a Senior UX/UI Engineer to drive design and frontend development for web products. You’ll team with leaders to implement user-focused solutions and release high-quality frontends produced with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, mentor peers, and use analytics to continuously improve experiences for veterans and families. A fast-paced, collaborative culture awaits.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and building websites or digital products.
• Strong portfolio with user-first design solutions.
• Solid grasp of typography, layout, color, and design principles.
• Experience with responsive web design methodologies.
• Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, CSS/Sass, and accessible development.
• Experience with version control and CMS systems.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch, or Figma.
• Experience in Agile software development; working knowledge of PHP.
• Experience using AI and LLMs to boost productivity is a plus.
• Familiarity with A/B or multivariate testing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to turn ideas into polished designs and high-fidelity prototypes.
• Work with developers to build accessible, responsive frontends using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Create and test new experiences; iterate based on user data and feedback.
• Partner with product owners to shape goals and roadmaps.
• Sketch and present workflows and wireframes; refine before go-live.
• Collaborate with analysts to measure product performance and optimize.

You will partner with leaders and stakeholders to conceptualize new products and solutions to customer and business problems. In addition, you will be responsible for building the front end and pairing with Software Engineers to release your work into the world. You will then team up with Analysts to evaluate the effectiveness of your designs through real user feedback to test, iterate, and continuously improve your experiences.
