RWE Americas, LLC seeks a Senior Utility Scale Development Associate to drive the initiation, development, and acquisition of utility-scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects in the US and Canada. The role focuses on ERCOT, SPP and MISO markets, coordinating with commercial and technical teams.

Applicants should have a STEM or related degree and 3+ years in project development or adjacent power sector work, with strong project management and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields; advanced degree is a plus.
• 3+ years in project development or related power sector work is advantageous.
• Structured, organized and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Strong problem solving, interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support greenfield development of utility-scale Solar, Wind and Storage projects across the US/Canada.
• Assist more experienced developers and coordinate project workstreams.
• Analyze financial attractiveness and identify optimal locations with teams.
• Help prepare budgets, schedules, and due diligence for acquisitions.
• Support management presentations and internal approvals.

The Senior Utility Scale Development Associate at RWE Americas is responsible for initiating, developing, and acquiring utility‑scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects in the US and Canada. The Development group in the south focuses on ERCOT, SPP and the MISO markets. The development manager will play a key roles in delivering renewable energy projects in alignment with RWE’s strategy in North America.

Responsibilities:

• Support the greenfielding and development of utility‑scale Solar, Wind and Energy Storage projects; including site due diligence, securing land control agreements, environmental and permitting, interconnection, engineering & pre‑construction, energy yield, tax abatements, power marketing, and tax equity financing
• As required, assist more experienced developers working on specific project workstreams
• Understand the key drivers for project’s financial attractiveness and identify best locations in collaboration with RWE’s commercial and technical teams
• Support the creation and maintenance of project budgets and schedules
• Support the due diligence of project acquisitions, in collaboration with RWE’s M&A team
• Support the preparation of management presentation as well as internal approval processes

Job Requirements and Experiences:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM, business/economics, or relevant fields. Advanced degree is a plus
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience specific to project development or adjacent areas within the power sector is an advantage (e.g. market analysis, transmission & interconnection, PPA marketing, electrical engineering, environmental analysis, M&A…)
• Structured and organized, able to manage multiple projects at the same time
• Strong problem‑solving abilities, interpersonal skills, attention to detail and work ethic
• Proven track record of managing complex projects in the infrastructure space
• Strong knowledge in key areas, including energy markets, prospecting, real estate development, interconnection, permitting, environmental, project engineering, construction management
• Exceptional project management skills
• Demonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables space
• Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams
• Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
