Job summary

Orange County Government’s Water Reclamation Division seeks a Sr. Utilities Maintenance Coordinator to lead maintenance teams, coordinate activities, and ensure facilities operate reliably. You will oversee trades, coordinate vendors, and respond to emergencies to maintain uninterrupted wastewater service.

The role requires a high school diploma with five years of related experience, familiarity with Maximo, and a valid Florida driver’s license. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

The Water Reclamation Division is responsible for the administration and treatment functions of the wastewater system and the production of reclaimed water at three water reclamation facilities that collectively treat approximately 50 million gallons per day.
Water Reclamation is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Sr. Utilities Maintenance Coordinator. The position will lead several teams and will serve as a core member of the Division¿s leadership team supporting the Division Manager.

Job Description
General Functions
This key position coordinates maintenance activities by multiple crews, schedules work activities to maintain facilities in an efficient operating condition, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, coordinates activities of vendors and subcontractors, and responds to emergency situations to correct operating problems in a timely manner. Prepares budget recommendations, is responsible for meeting budget objectives and approves minor budget expenditures. Tasks performed involve highly complex technical work.
Work is performed with considerable independence and the exercise of independent judgment under the general supervision of the department manager or other designated supervisor.
Representative Duties/ Assignments
Duties may vary based on area of assignment

• Knowledge of computer-based maintenance programs (Maximo).
• Overseeing maintenance and repair of heavy equipment.
• Participating in work activities and providing training to other staff as necessary.
• Ordering parts and supplies and keeping records.
• Writing detailed job procedures.
• Preparing evaluations and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Emergency Management ResponsibilitiesIn the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee in this role may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee¿s department, the County¿s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after an emergency/disaster.
Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and five (5) years of experience; primarily in equipment maintenance and materials management systems utilized to support wastewater treatments facility operating systems or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver¿s License.
• Based on the area of assignment, it may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license.

Preferences

• Experience in water and wastewater operations and knowledge of related trades.
• Knowledge and understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems needed to plan and repair various equipment.
• Familiar with the rules governing safe crane operation and other equipment such as forklift, loader and dump truck.
• Supervisory experience and planning skills, computerized maintenance management system/MAXIMO.
• Experience in maintaining control systems.
• Familiar with and utilize local Orange County codes
• Familiar with HMI (Human-Machine-Interface) software, and hardware servers and workstations.
