The Water Reclamation Division is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Wastewater Operator A (Operations Specialist) in our South and East Water Reclamation Plants
Coordinates activities performed by the work unit, scheduled work activities to maintain facilities in efficient operating conditions, reviews work performed by a variety of trades, responds to emergency situations to correct operating problems in a timely manner. Work requires independent judgment under general supervision of a designated supervisor.
Responsible for wastewater treatment operations and maintaining the facility¿s permit compliance
Assists the SOS with staff scheduling, training and capital project construction coordination activities
Administers and ensures the timely performance and completion of shift duties
Leads in the implementation task efficiencies and facilitating daily operational and maintenance team
meetings
Ensures the timely performance of and completion of shift¿s operational duties
QA/QC accurate permit required reports (Monthly Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR), Annual Reuse,
Pathogen Monitoring, Surface Water Monitoring, etc.) for review by the SOS and Plant Manager
Performs operational quality control checks, identifies maintenance work order needs and requests in Maximo¿s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMS) and coordinates the repair and scheduling with the maintenance personnel
Plans and schedules operational PM work orders
Reviews and assists with data entry to ensure the timely and accurate completion of DMRs
Performs other duties as may be assigned
Graduation from high school or equivalent and three (3) years of water or wastewater plant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver¿s License
Based on area of assignment, may be required to possess and maintain the appropriate certification or license.
Possess and maintain a FDEP A wastewater license
Depending on area of assignment, must be able to comply with the requirements of the Utilities¿ Health and Safety Manual
Must complete the Orange County Leadership Development series within two (2) years of hire or promotion
Must demonstrate proficiency in three (3) Plant Specialist skills areas
Must complete the Orange County Effective Training and Presentation Skills program or an equivalent trainer¿s certification program within two (2) years of hire or promotion
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Kronos and Maximo
