Your knowledge of reinsurance placement requirements, if any, on individual accounts, is important and valued. You will have opportunities to foster positive business relationships with agents and reinsurers.

Job Responsibilities
  • Review risks from agents, brokers, or program managers, and decide to accept or decline based on necessary information, analyzing exposure, developing premiums, and determining endorsements/exclusions.

  • Analyze premium and loss results, audit policies for compliance, and develop action plans as needed.

  • Manage policy maintenance, endorsements, loss control reports, and claims, following up as necessary.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with agents and brokers, including travel for audits, training, and marketing, and develop marketing strategies for growth.

  • Place reinsurance within department guidelines and maintain good relationships with reinsurers.

  • Market Nationwide products and services, develop new business, and respond to account assessments with strategic proposals.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Completion of general insurance courses preferred (e.g., CPCU, CIC, AU, ARM, CPIW, CWIS, or ASLI).

  • Four years related experience or two years as an underwriter, excess & surplus lines preferred.
