Job description

CGI Federal is hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer to support a major federal modernization program in Huntsville, AL (onsite). In this role, you will lead UX design across cloud-based applications, data workflows, dashboards, and mission-critical interfaces, helping translate complex operational needs into intuitive, secure experiences.

Compensation for this position ranges from USD 70,800 to 156,700 per year. CGI also offers comprehensive insurance options, matching contributions through the 401(k) plan and the share purchase plan, and paid time off for vacation, holidays, and sick time. What you will do

• Lead user research, persona development, workflow analysis, and UX discovery activities
• Create wireframes, user flows, journey maps, prototypes, and interaction models
• Translate mission and technical requirements into intuitive user experiences for enterprise and mission use cases
• Ensure designs meet usability, accessibility (Section 508), and security standards
• Design modern, responsive interfaces for web-based dashboards and cloud applications
• Produce high-fidelity mockups, visual assets, and design systems including style guides
• Collaborate with developers for pixel perfect implementation and alignment between UI concepts and UX principles
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and design reviews
• Work closely with Product Leads, Full Stack Engineers, QA Automation Engineers, and Cloud teams
• Define clear design requirements, acceptance criteria, and handoff documentation
• Support iterative improvement using user testing and stakeholder feedback, including usability testing, A/B testing, and UI validation sessions
• Analyze results and recommend design refinements to improve user efficiency and user satisfaction
• Maintain design libraries and reusable components for consistency across applications
• Present design concepts and UX findings to leadership, mission stakeholders, and engineering teams

Required qualifications

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in UI/UX design, human centered design, or digital product development
• Proven expertise designing complex, data-rich interfaces for enterprise or mission-critical applications
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments
• Strong communication, research, prototyping, and collaboration skills
• Ability to translate complex workflows into intuitive user experiences

Helpful experience

• Experience supporting DOJ, FBI, Intelligence Community, or national security programs
• Familiarity with cloud-based applications, data visualizations, and microservice architectures
• Experience with accessibility compliance including Section 508 / WCAG
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS or front-end concepts to support development alignment
