Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. UC Network Engineer to join a team supporting mission-critical network, infrastructure, and collaboration environments within the Department of Defense.

This role requires an active Secret Clearance and is located in a hybrid environment at Scott Air Force Base, IL (4 days onsite per week). You will lead engineering efforts, design and implement enterprise networking and UC solutions, and serve as a technical advisor for modernization projects.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering or enterprise technology support environments.
• Advanced certifications preferred.
• Extensive experience with enterprise routing, switching, data center, security, and UC environments.
• Experience developing automation and orchestration solutions using APIs, scripting, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, version control systems, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience administering and supporting Linux and Windows Server environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer delivery engagements and provide escalation support for large-scale infrastructure, network, and collaboration solutions.
• Design, implement, integrate, optimize, and support enterprise networking, security, data center, virtualization, and collaboration technologies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex routing, switching, security, data center, and unified communications environments.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer leadership by providing technical guidance, architecture recommendations, and strategic modernization planning.
• Design and implement firewall policies, high-availability configurations, and secure connectivity solutions supporting voice, video, messaging, and enterprise applications.
• Support hyper-converged and virtualized infrastructure environments hosting critical business and collaboration services.
• Support Linux and Windows Server environments that provide services for enterprise applications, monitoring platforms, and infrastructure management tools.
• Participate in crisis management activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact operations or service delivery.

• Hands‑on experience with Docker, version control systems, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience administering and supporting Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Strong background working with voice protocols, PSTN connectivity, and enterprise collaboration deployments.

Compensation for the Sr. UC Network Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000/year
