Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security is seeking an experienced Senior Trade Compliance Manager to support Canada and U.S. operations with a broad range of import and export compliance matters. You will collaborate with various AWS teams including Operations, Brokerage, Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Tax, and other internal and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance initiatives.

This position reports to the North America (NAM) Regional Trade Compliance Manager within the Global Trade and Product Compliance (GPTC) organization for AWS.

Key job responsibilities
  • Monitor import/export regulatory or procedural changes impacting cross-border planning in the NAM region, and communicate these guidelines during export/import planning.
  • Gather due diligence information for Country Launch processes, informing stakeholders of specific regional requirements.
  • Establish and maintain positive relations with key stakeholders and business teams.
  • Manage daily import/export compliance guidance tasks in NAM markets, including research, status updates, vendor engagement, and team coordination.
  • Assist with trade classification of technology, hardware, and software, including HTS, Schedule B, and ECCN.
  • Support tariff mitigation strategies and develop system requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and address information or process gaps.
  • Develop, document, and update operational processes and procedures.
  • Create communication and training plans to ensure partner awareness and compliance.
  • Define performance metrics and timelines for related activities.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements.

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with US/CA customs and trade compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of handling imports and exports per US/CA regulations.
  • 5+ years leveraging technology for business analysis and process improvements.
  • 5+ years managing Canada importations and developing SOPs for CBSA requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade compliance experience related to Canada/U.S. regulations.
  • Experience in import/export compliance environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
  • Experience in the tech industry.
  • HS classification expertise.
  • Strong analytical, program management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex compliance requirements into scalable solutions.

The salary range for this role is $107,400 to $229,700 annually, depending on location and experience. Additional compensation may include equity, sign-on bonuses, and benefits. More details at this link.
