Job description

Sr. Testing Engineer

Needed for a direct hire opportunity with SOC's client in Indian Head, MD.

US citizenship required

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and execute testing strategies for energetic materials, ensuring adherence to OP-5: Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore or equivalent safety standards.
  2. Manage day-to-day testing operations, laboratory equipment, and personnel with a focus on operational safety, regulatory compliance, and process efficiency.
  3. Perform in-depth testing and analysis of energetic systems, chemicals, and formulations to validate performance, quality, and safety.
  4. Apply expert knowledge of maintenance techniques and testing procedures relevant to energetic systems and materials.
  5. Review and contribute to technical documentation, including data packages, SOPs, quality documents, and process documentation.
  6. Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices for handling and testing energetic materials.
  7. Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support development, testing, and troubleshooting initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or related).
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering testing of energetic materials.
  • Working knowledge of OP-5 or equivalent ammunition and explosives safety regulations.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies and maintenance practices for energetics systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and safety standards applicable to energetics testing, development, and manufacturing.
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Employment Pre-requisites:
