Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Test Technician for ECU Manufacturing Software to lead software release activities and coordinate cross-functional troubleshooting across the ECU production environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Test Team, Operations, TPMs, and software/ test engineers to ensure smooth deployments and issue resolution. Strong Windows and electrical troubleshooting skills are required to support high-volume automotive ECU testing.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in electronics to end customers.
  • At least 3 years in a technical role.
  • Automotive ECU experience a definite plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and oral).

Responsibilities

  • Establish and track SW releases across ECU manufacturing software.
  • Coordinate software releases inside the flashing area as user champion.
  • Manage in-house ECU SW release process with Test Team (MFG), Operations and Contact Manufacturers.
  • Collaborate with TPMs, SW engineers and test engineers to implement and maintain release solutions and processes.
  • Provide information requested for all Engineering builds and Production to other teams.
  • Communicate status to Test Engineer on activities for 20+ programs.
  • Review, track and sign off SW DEVREQs/ECRs for internal and external ECUs.
  • Manage multiple concurrent releases/builds and deployments from development to production rollout.
  • Oversee pre-release SW testing in Mfg Test lab, CM, and Internal sites.
  • Track open SW issues and drive to resolution.
  • Inspect and repair damaged harnesses, connectors, and wiring used in ECU flashing and test stations.
  • Resolve computer-related connection issues (USB, Ethernet, serial, diagnostic interface, flashing tool).
  • Maintain and support test station computers, Windows setup, drivers, network, peripherals.

Role

The Sr. Test Technician for ECU Manufacturing Software plays a central role in managing and coordinating software releases and testing for ECU production with a focus on collaboration and technical troubleshooting. This position requires strong cross-functional communication and technical skills to ensure smooth software deployment and issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, track and sign off all SW DEVREQs/ECR for internal and external ECUs
  • Manage multiple concurrent releases/build and deployments from development to production rollout
  • Manage the pre-release SW testing in the Mfg Test lab, CM, and Internal sites
  • Track all open SW issues that affect these teams and manage to resolution
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair damaged harnesses, connectors, and wiring used in ECU flashing and test stations
  • Identify and resolve computer-related connection issues, including USB, Ethernet, serial, diagnostic interface, and flashing tool communication problems
  • Maintain and support test station computers, including basic Windows troubleshooting, software setup, driver installation, network connectivity, and peripheral configuration
Required Skills:
  • Skilled in working with multiple organizations across different cultures and regions
  • Ability to work in a small, motivated group within a larger organization
  • Working knowledge of computers, Windows operating systems, wiring diagrams, harness repair, connector pinouts, and basic electrical troubleshooting
Education and Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics to end customers
  • At least 3 years in experience in a technical role
  • Experience in high volume Consumer or Enterprise, with Automotive ECU experience a definite plus
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication skills (writing and oral)
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of UDS standard (User level)
  • Knowledge of CAN and DoIP protocols (User level)
  • Automotive experience
