Job summary

MiniMed is seeking a Sr Test Engineer to validate data ingestion, processing pipelines, APIs, and cloud-based apps. You will lead testing across UI, services, APIs, and backend components, using Postman, ReadyAPI, Java, and Python.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD with 0 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming experience in Java.
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Postman / Ready API.
  • Strong knowledge in using AI tools.
  • Experience testing across application layers, including UI, services, APIs, and backend components.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for medical device data processing and cloud applications.
  • Validate data ingestion, transformation, processing, and synchronization across devices, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
  • Test AWS-based data processing services and validate data accuracy, integrity, reliability, and traceability.
  • Perform API testing using Postman and automate test scenarios using Java/Python.
  • Validate real-time and asynchronous device data flows from medical devices to cloud systems.
  • Analyze logs, processing failures, and data discrepancies to identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, cloud, data engineering, and product teams to resolve defects.
  • Ensure testing activities comply with applicable medical device quality, safety, security, and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

MiniMed is looking to hire a Sr Test Engineer who will be responsible for validating data ingestion, processing pipelines, APIs, and cloud-based applications. We need someone with strong experience in functional, integration, and end-to-end testing, with expertise in SQL, AWS, API testing, automation, and CI/CD. This individual will work closely with development and data engineering teams to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and system quality. Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for medical device data processing and cloud applications. Validate data ingestion, transformation, processing, and synchronization across devices, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms. Test AWS-based data processing services and validate data accuracy, integrity, reliability, and traceability. Perform API testing using Postman and automate test scenarios using Java/Python. Validate real-time and asynchronous device data flows from medical devices to cloud systems. Automation expertise with Postman /Java / Python Strong Proficiency in Java / Python Analyze logs, processing failures, and data discrepancies to identify root causes. Collaborate with software, firmware, cloud, data engineering, and product teams to resolve defects. Ensure testing activities comply with applicable medical device quality, safety, security, and regulatory requirements. Prepare test plans, test cases, test reports, defect documentation, and traceability evidence. Support risk-based testing, release validation, and production readiness activities. Continuously improve test coverage, automation, data validation, and overall product quality.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD with 0 years of relevant experience. Strong programming experience in Java. Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Postman / Ready API Strong knowledge in using AI tools. Experience testing across application layers, including UI, services, APIs, and backend components.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a Java Developer or Test Automation Engineer. Experience working in the medical device domain or other regulated environments.n. Ability to programmatically test, debug, and optimize code and automated scripts.

PR) locations (USD):$87,000.00 - $149,000.00 For roles located in California, Seattle WA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and New York City, the salary range is $87,000.00 - $118,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, market conditions, internal equity, and geographic location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
