Job summary

Kinect LLC is seeking a Senior Technologist to lead the Institutional Operations Technology team in New York City. You will design, build, and integrate scalable solutions for institutional, fund, intermediary, SMA, and UMA businesses, leveraging strong C#/.NET and SQL expertise.

The role requires 10+ years in software development, asset management domain knowledge, and leadership in Agile environments. Hybrid NYC work model with base salary range noted, bonus eligibility and extensive benefits

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong C#/.NET development experience with production applications.
  • Asset management experience in Fund, Intermediary, SMA, or UMA environments.
  • Experience with SEI and/or APL platforms and fund administration systems.
  • Advanced SQL skills with MS SQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD.
  • Agile/Scrum experience and independent project leadership.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS or related field; Kubernetes/OpenShift/Azure/Python/Perl.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support applications and integrations with internal and third‑party investment platforms.
  • Gather requirements with business and operations teams and translate into technical solutions.
  • Develop high‑quality C#/.NET applications, services, and integrations.
  • Manage SDLC projects from design to production support and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Support platform modernization, upgrades, migrations, and infra improvements.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.

Job description

Our client, a leading global investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Technologist to join its Institutional Operations Technology team in New York City.

This individual will lead the design, development, integration, and support of scalable technology solutions supporting institutional, fund, intermediary, SMA, and UMA business operations. The ideal candidate is a senior‑level full‑stack .NET engineer with strong asset management industry experience, deep SQL/data expertise, and the ability to independently drive initiatives from requirements through production deployment and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and support applications and integrations with internal and third‑party investment platforms.
  • Partner with business and operations teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Develop high‑quality C#/.NET applications, services, and integrations.
  • Manage projects throughout the full SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Support platform modernization, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical standards, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong C#/.NET development experience, including production applications and services.
  • Significant asset management experience, particularly within Fund, Intermediary, SMA, and/or UMA environments.
  • Experience with investment industry platforms such as SEI and/or APL and fund administration systems.
  • Knowledge of intermediary and model‑delivery ecosystems, including wirehouse/sponsor platforms and solutions such as Envestnet or Orion.
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Snowflake.
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and independent project leadership skills.
  • Experience with scheduling tools such as Tidal or Control‑M.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Azure, Python, Perl, shell scripting, Domain‑Driven Design, and event‑driven/service‑oriented architectures is preferred.

Location: New York City – Hybrid, minimum two days per week in office.

Compensation: $130,000–$180,000 annual base salary. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, education, and business needs.

The position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental and vision insurance, retirement benefits, life insurance, and other benefits for eligible employees.
