Job summary

Carrier, a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, is hiring a Sr Technical Support Specialist. You will troubleshoot HVAC and BAS issues, review wiring diagrams, support remote and on-site customers, and help commission and re-commission systems.

Travel and on-call work are required. Responsibilities include documenting processes, mentoring teammates, and providing high-quality service across multiple sites in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC, mechanical systems, and/or BAS experience with a HS diploma; or 1+ year with a Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of chiller system operation and central plant fundamentals knowledge.
• 1+ years experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
• On-call rotation participation is required.
• Valid driver's license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Complete required paperwork, post work orders, log calls, and update documentation.
• Analyze energy data and system graphics to identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide remote and on-site support via calls, emails, and tickets.
• Train and mentor team members; assist in startup, commissioning, and re-commissioning HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with field operations and customers to resolve issues efficiently.

(after onboarding process has been completed)* Must possess a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.* Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.* Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.**Preferred Qualifications** * Knowledge of controls applications pertaining to HVAC, lighting, and refrigeration.* Prior experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS).* Willingness and ability to develop additional knowledge of chiller operations, troubleshooting, and critical cooling systems through on-the-job training.* Solid understanding of IP networking and computer fundamentals.* Third-party integration experience (BACnet IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus).* Ability to interpret system graphics, alarms, trends, and operational data to support remote troubleshooting efforts.* Experience working in customer-facing technical support, service, commissioning, or operations environments.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly.**Pay Range**The annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
