Job summary

Disney Experiences (DX) Tech & Digital seeks a Senior Technical Project Manager to identify, plan and coordinate related projects within a program, managing interdependencies to support business strategies.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, design, and vendors to drive delivery, governance, budgeting, and forecast accuracy while leading Agile practices and tooling across large teams.

Qualifications

  • Must have minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience with engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Info Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle.
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience with Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall and blending styles to enable collaboration and delivery.
  • Must have deep understanding of DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD).
  • Experience coaching teams on Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall.

Responsibilities

  • Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through full delivery life cycle.
  • Works with engineering teams to establish processes across programs for prioritized projects.
  • Defines and manages Agile ceremonies and governance for large teams.
  • Maintains monthly forecast submissions including resource allocations and vendor payments.
  • Conducts regular program status meetings with partners and stakeholders.
  • Builds program reports and dashboards for management and sponsors.
  • Monitors and adjusts program plans to meet business goals and milestones.
  • Acts as liaison among Product Management, Design, Technology, vendors and other teams.
  • Leads project delivery by coordinating cross-functional dependencies and RAID.
  • Escalates issues for timely resolution and mitigation.
  • Ensures proper project closure with lessons learned and hand-off to production operations.
  • Owns Jira and Confluence administration, governance and executive reporting.

We deliver experiences to consumers through our Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Lines, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digitally led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business, as well as other initiatives such as Hey, Disney!

As a Senior Technical Project Manager you will identify, plan and coordinate a set of related projects within a program and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You will also apply project management principles and techniques to lead project schedule, scope, quality, cost and performance risks. The Senior Technical Project Manager will work closely with cross-discipline technology teams, leadership and business partners to understand technical and business direction, milestones and budget, as well as provide thought leadership to project management team.

The Senior Technical Project Manager will report to the Manager, Technical Project Management. This role supports the Disney Consumer Products (DCP) portfolio (Branded Retail and Stores, Licensing and Publishing).

What You’ll Do
  • Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through full delivery life cycle ensuring project is delivered timely and on-budget.
  • Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership to establish processes across all program areas that will ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.
  • Defines, optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams.
  • Maintain monthly forecast submissions, including adjustments to resource allocations, vendor payment schedules, and forecasts for partner teams
  • Conduct regular program status meetings with all partners, ensuring needs and requirements are met
  • Build program reports and dashboards for program management, sponsors, and partners
  • Monitors & adjusts program plan to respond to unplanned changes, ensuring program is progressing to meet business goals
  • Act as a primary liaison among multiple teams, including Product Management, Design, Technology, vendors, and other key functional delivery teams
  • Lead project delivery by coordinating cross‑functional dependencies, resolving blockers, and managing RAID to ensure milestones stay on track
  • Escalate key issues and risks to ensure timely resolution and mitigation
  • Ensure proper project closure including lessons learned, transition and hand-off to production operations support, and final financial reporting
  • Own Jira and Confluence administration, governance, and executive reporting, ensuring consistent Agile processes, traceability, and delivery visibility
  • Drive roadmap planning, dependency mapping, and infrastructure migration coordination using Advanced Roadmaps and aligned tracking artifacts
  • Support cross‑functional teams through training, coaching, and program‑level coordination across Scrum teams and vendors
  • Support Jira Cloud migration readiness, including cleanup, process alignment, and adoption support
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Must have minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Info Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, engineering and/or product development
  • Influence and negotiation, communication, professional maturity & organizational savvy, relationship building, dependency mapping
  • Must have extensive hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall as well as extensive experience with pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery
  • Must have deep understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)
  • Significant experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices including Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall
  • Must have experience and knowledge of AI emerging technologies, nomenclature and strategies
  • Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of a project
  • Experience managing large project budgets
  • Must have experience with tools such as: Microsoft suite, Keynote, Smartsheet, MyPPM (Clarity), MyJira, Tableau, Claude, and PowerBI
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience in supporting large-scale, global software development programs

The hiring range for this position in Orlando is $123,100.00 - $145,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
