Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager, Network Capacity Demand to lead capacity forecasting and procurement strategies for AWS networking hardware.

You will collaborate with software, networking, finance, and supply chain teams to translate capacity needs into actionable plans that scale with customer demand. In this role you will drive forecasting accuracy, design scalable solutions, mentor cross-functional teams, and align investments with growth objectives while balancing cost,

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain network capacity forecasts that inform procurement planning and guide infrastructure investment decisions across AWS global operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including software, networking, finance, and supply chain—to translate capacity requirements into executable procurement strategies
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities that enhance forecasting accuracy, reduce planning cycles, and enable faster scaling
  • Lead strategic initiatives that balance efficiency, performance, and reliability while optimizing costs for network infrastructure investments
  • Partner with senior leaders across multiple organizations to align capacity planning with business growth objectives and drive alignment on resource allocation
A day in the life

In this role, you'll focus on network capacity forecasting—the critical function that ensures AWS has the right hardware, at the right time, to support our customers' growing needs. You'll partner with software teams building automation tools, collaborate with applied scientists on predictive modeling, and work alongside networking, finance, and supply chain specialists to translate complex capacity requirements into actionable procurement plans.

Your days will involve analyzing network demand patterns, identifying bottlenecks in our planning processes, and designing scalable solutions that balance short-term execution with long-term strategic vision. You'll present findings and recommendations to senior leaders across multiple organizations, building consensus around capacity investments that enable service growth without constraints. Beyond routine planning activities, you'll champion process improvements and mentor cross-functional teams on capacity thinking, helping shape how we approach infrastructure scaling.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of software development experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
