The role requires high integrity, personal accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and infrastructure technology domain expertise.

Here’s What You’ll Do
  • Program Management – take a structured, data‑driven, and risk‑based approach to program scoping, execution, and reporting
  • Kick off and successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high visibility workstreams with full ownership, effective collaboration, and good process
  • Build processes, templates, and structure, or leverage existing ones as appropriate
  • Manage vendors, schedule, scope, and cost
  • Measure program success (or lack thereof) and risks using data and facts
  • Provide balanced risk remediation strategies and recommendations and drive risk mitigation
  • Develop and maintain close stakeholder relationships and build influence to drive the appropriate outcomes across Moderna
  • Provide clear, accurate, consistent, and timely communications
  • Advance good infrastructure and security practices and culture
  • Partner collaboration work with Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, and AI Engineering, as well as Network Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Builder Tools & Platforms, IT, Cybersecurity, software engineering, and business stakeholders to manage and drive improvement projects in a structured and predictable manner
  • Manage multiple initiatives:
    • Cloud modernization
    • Rationalize infrastructure platforms, tooling, and service models that underpin AI workloads
    • Identify and eliminate redundant, unsupported, or non‑scalable infrastructure patterns that impede AI adoption
    • Enable standardized, secure, and supportable “AI‑ready” infrastructure foundations that accelerate time‑to‑value while managing cost and risk
    • Ensure infrastructure rationalization aligns with AI governance, data protection, and compliance requirements
    • Define and track KPIs related to platform consolidation, cost optimization, risk reduction, and AI enablement readiness
    • Lead and drive infrastructure service management improvements and process optimization initiatives, including infrastructure patch and vulnerability management
    • Actively contribute to creating a more inclusive culture and environment at Moderna; endorse, create, and maintain antiracist policies and processes
Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • 8+ years of program management experience, preferably in infrastructure engineering
  • Demonstrated technical depth, problem‑solving capabilities, and stakeholder and vendor management skills
  • Technical background in infrastructure engineering, with a strong understanding of ITSM
  • Experience in running programs within a cross‑functional, global team of mixed engineering, architecture, and operations
  • Ability to successfully scope and drive complex and multi‑workstream programs in a structured, risk‑considerate, data‑driven fashion
  • Strong listener with the ability to deeply understand, ask the right questions, and proactively pursue constructive feedback
  • Proven ability to operate in highly matrixed environments and influence without direct authority
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure concepts: compute, storage, networking, containers, Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure needs (GPUs, distributed training, data pipelines, MLOps)
  • Influential, inclusive, and trusted partner compassionate to the needs and situations of all stakeholders
  • Deep familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
  • Experience driving structured, process-driven infrastructure transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to infrastructure operations
  • Embrace a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence
  • A desire to make an impact as part of a high‑growth, transformational company
  • Experience with GxP environments and regulatory requirements
