Job description

Sr Technical Program Manager, AWS Analytics Engineering

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc.

AWS Analytics Engineering (AAE) is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead delivery and cross-organization coordination for the Foundational Data Technology (FDT) organization. FDT is the central org within AAE that supports AWS Product Analytics — owning the foundational datasets, data platform infrastructure, service transformations, reporting operations, and data content and stewardship that power AWS revenue reporting, usage analytics, and product intelligence.

You will own the delivery strategy across FDT’s core programs — Unified Revenue, Unified Actuals, Unified Usage — and a portfolio of internal initiatives including security, compliance, infrastructure modernization, and central engineering programs. This is a cross-organizational role. You will work across AWS Sales, Finance, Product, and CP Platform organizations to drive discussions, seek alignment, and ensure FDT’s data products meet the needs of stakeholders across the AWS business. Within AAE, you will partner with data engineering managers across five sub-teams to drive programs, remove blockers, and hold teams accountable to commitments.

You will represent FDT in leadership meetings, present program status and strategy to Director and VP-level audiences, and serve as the primary point of contact for cross-org partners. You will partner directly with the AAE Director and Principal Engineers to shape how the team delivers against its roadmap.

The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of data — including data modeling, pipeline architectures, and analytical workflows — and can step up to perform basic data analysis using SQL or AI-assisted tools when needed to validate assumptions, investigate discrepancies, or support deep dives. You can hold the full picture of a multi-workstream program while diving into technical details, and communicate with clarity to audiences ranging from engineers to VPs.

Key job responsibilities
  • Responsible for the end-to-end project management functions of large programs including planning, risk and issue management, trade-offs and execution, anticipating bottlenecks, managing escalations, and balancing business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Defining project scope, prioritization, managing sprints planning from project initiation till final launches and status reporting to stakeholders. Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  • Effectively cooperate with customers, technical staff and leaders, business leaders and executives to define and deliver complex features.
  • Drive programs that require coordination across multiple in-org and cross-org teams — writing business cases, driving funding, and aligning roadmaps across organizational boundaries.
  • Leading requirement gathering, design/technology selection initiatives, design reviews.
  • Empower technical and non-technical, internal customers to drive their own analytics and reporting (self-serve reporting).
  • Deep dive current-state processes, understand operational challenges, collaborate cross-functionally to brainstorm solutions, and ask the right questions to identify the right technical approach. Evaluate emerging AI technologies and guide teams through responsible adoption.
  • Develop deep understanding of vast data sources and know exactly how, when, and which data to use to solve particular business problems.
  • Work with Product Managers, Finance, Service Engineering Teams and Sales Teams on day-to-day basis to support their new analytics requirements.
  • Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically, prioritizing when necessary.
  • Partner/collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results.
  • Mentor other engineers, influence positively team culture, and help grow team.
