Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) seeks a Technical Program Manager to drive AI/ML powered product classification across the world’s largest catalog. You will partner with scientists and engineers to productionize ML-based systems, handling large data sets and cross-market deployments.

Amazon Selection and Catalog Systems (ASCS) builds the systems that host and runthe world’s largest e-Commerce products catalog. Within this organization theProduct Knowledge and Browse Node Classification team is seeking an experiencedTechnical Program Manager to drive solutions for classifying all products intothe Catalog. The problem space consists on developing systems capable ofidentifying what a product is, mining product information to determine how aproduct across its different functions should be classified for browsing andsearching purposes at high precision, scaling across marketplaces and languages.
You will help build systems that are partially or entirely powered by AI and ML.The systems are responsible for handling continuous incoming traffic of productsentering the catalog, building applications for analyzing product composition,mining product signals such as images, text and unstructured data to drive trueunderstanding of product knowledge. As a TPM you will work to build solutions toreal world problems, partnering closely with Scientists. The ideal candidate hasworked on systems productionizing ML-based systems in one or several of thefollowing fields: Web search, Deep Neural Networks, Classification Systems,Clustering, Natural Language Processing, Personalization, ArtificialIntelligence. A successful candidate will have an established background inbuilding innovative systems from inception to production, scaling systems withlarge data sets, developing customer-facing experiences, and making data-drivendecisions.
The Product and Browse Node Classification team classifies products into theoptimal Product Type, and Browse Node within Amazon’s Catalog and MP Taxonomy toensure that they are discoverable when customers are searching or browsing. OwnsAutoclassification systems, Misclassification detection, related services,interfaces and protections to reduce Seller contacts and friction.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
