Job summary

Petco is hiring a Sr. Technical Data Product Manager to shape and deliver trusted, scalable data products powering analytics, personalization, and AI-driven decision-making across Petco.

You’ll bridge business stakeholders with data, analytics, architecture, and governance teams, owning end-to-end delivery, guiding governance, and driving adoption of governed data products across domains such as customer, loyalty, sales, inventory, marketing, merchandising, services and finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science or another quantitative field.
• Experience in technical product ownership, data product management, data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, modeling, ETL/ELT, APIs, data quality, lineage, and BI.
• Expert knowledge of SQL.
• Experience managing Agile product backlogs and cross-functional delivery.
• Problem solver with a product mindset: Ability to problem solve complex issues and constantly think about how to make processes more efficient.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders, with proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering data products.
• Experience with BigQuery, Looker, dbt, Customer 360, MDM, CDP, retail, or e-commerce is a plus.
• The ideal candidate understands that a data product is more than a table or dashboard. It must be trusted, well-defined, governed, reusable and designed around measurable consumer value.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, roadmap, backlog, and outcomes for enterprise data products.
• Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, data models, and technical requirements.
• Partner with data engineers, architects, analysts, data scientists, and business teams.
• Define data-quality standards, business rules, data contracts, metric definitions, and service-level expectations.
• Define and analyze key insights to track the performance of our data products.
• Drive adoption of governed data products and measure their business value.
• Support modern data capabilities built on Google Cloud and BigQuery.
• Create processes for collecting feedback from users and prioritizing requests across business stakeholders.
• Champion data governance standards in collaboration across internal teams.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.

Salary Range: $100,100.00 - $166,100.00
