Job summary

Phaxis seeks a Senior Technical Business Analyst with strong database and data-structure knowledge to gather and document detailed data requirements. You will partner with business and tech stakeholders across Treasury, Accounting, and financial systems to translate needs into technical specs, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.

You will communicate requirements to Data Engineers, Developers, and Architects, ensuring data rules and relationships are upheld.

Qualifications

• Experience translating business needs into technical requirements and data mappings.
• Ability to understand data relationships and data flows across systems.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Developers, and Architects to clarify requirements.
• Treasury or Accounting domain knowledge is a plus.
• Strong SQL and data analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Technical Business Analyst with strong knowledge of databases and data structures, preferably with Snowflake experience, using that understanding to gather, analyze, and document detailed data requirements.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand data needs, business rules, data relationships, and requirements across Treasury, Accounting, or other financial systems.
• Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, data mappings, source-to-target specifications, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Understand database structures, tables, relationships, data flows, and integrations well enough to effectively communicate requirements to Data Engineers, Developers, and Architects.
• Collaborate with technical teams to analyze data issues, clarify requirements, validate business rules, and ensure solutions align with business and data requirements.
• Support data analysis, testing, reconciliation, and validation by working with SQL queries and database outputs as needed; hands-on database development is not required.
• Apply Treasury or Accounting domain knowledge to understand financial data, transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and downstream impacts across enterprise applications.
