FedEx Group in Detroit, MI is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to maintain and repair all package sorting and container handling equipment, and to service electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems per FedEx procedures.
The role requires a high school diploma/GED and 4 years of maintenance experience, including 24 months with FedEx sort systems or similar equipment. Valid driver's license and ability to work variable shifts are required.
Maintains and repair all package sorting and container handling equipment; maintains all electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems in accordance with established FedEx maintenance procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED
Four (4) years experience, of which 24 months being as a FedEx sort systems technician, or 24 months of maintenance on similar equipment/systems, as a commercial/industrial maintenance technician with background in electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic & materials handling systems maintenance.
Must possess good working knowledge of maintenance tools, equipment and procedures. Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy sort related components, parts and equipment with appropriate equipment and/or assistance. Good interpersonal and oral communications skills. Ability to access equipment by crawling, laying, standing and/or climbing at all heights both above and below ground level.
Must be willing to work odd work weeks, o/t, holidays & rotating shifts. Valid driver’s license required. Non-covered safety sensitive position; ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
The desired location for this position is Detroit, MI (DTW) location. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.
