Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Technician for the Materials Review Board (MRB) to control nonconforming material and manage product flow, ensuring quality across internal and external customers. Qualifications

Responsibilities

What You Will Do
  • This position is for a Senior Technician to join the Material Review Board (MRB). This role works as an individual contributor within a team to achieve objectives that have a significant impact on area of product responsibility. Rely on experience and knowledge to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Primary function to control nonconforming material and manage product flow to internal and external Customers while collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Maintain control and compliance of non‑conforming material.
  • Apply and maintain quality evaluation to prevent improper use of non‑conforming material in deliverable flight products.
  • Ensure quality processes are followed for area of product responsibility
  • Coordinate non‑conforming material to return to vendor by requesting Return Material Authorization from the Supply Chain team.
  • Interact with Material Review Board members inclusive of the cross functional team of Product Quality Engineers, Design Engineers, Procurement and Supply Chain Quality Engineers.
  • Support the Receiving and Inspection teams for material flow and control.
  • Collaborate with MRB members to confirm and clarify non‑conformances through review of design prints and specifications.
  • Use a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, computer systems, and statistical control processes to perform inspection tasks as needed.
  • Interact with Quality personnel at other Collins and RTX sites as needed for support of accomplishing inter‑site tasks
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to make improvements to processes, systems or products.
  • May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of technical/business support employees.
  • Solves basic problems
  • Apply intermediate skills, may adapt new procedures, techniques, tools, etc.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower‑level professionals
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
  • Experience in general manufacturing environments.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Aerospace Industry experience preferred
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Experience with nonconforming material control including dispositioning
  • High comfort level handling Optical, Electrical and Mechanical products.
  • Hands‑on experience with manual inspection tools needed for electrical and mechanical products.
  • Ability to interpret design prints and specifications.

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
